28th FEBRUARY: ANDALUSIA DAY 

El alumnado de 1º del Ciclo de Gestión de Alojamientos Turísticos se está preparando concienzudamente para un futuro laboral en el ámbito del turismo, bien sea en la gestión hotelera, bien en todo aquello relacionado con los viajes: reservas de billetes y hoteles, alquiler de vehículos, descripción de lugares y monumentos y mucho más.

En esta ocasión, y con motivo de la celebración del Día de Andalucía, han creado sus propios posters publicitarios e informativos de distintos lugares de nuestra comunidad elegidos por ellos/as. Además, están preparando sus presentaciones sobre las diferentes localidades que conforman nuestra comarca del Campo de Gibraltar, que posteriormente presentarán en clase ante el resto de sus compañeros/as.

La importancia del housekeeping en el hotel

El housekeeping tiene cada vez más protagonismo en el día a día de cualquier hotel, y es que este concepto de “cuidado de la casa” se ha convertido en un eje central de las actividades hosteleras en general, que abogan cada vez más por una experiencia de calidad de cara al cliente y un cuidado excepcional de todas las áreas implicadas en sus servicios ofertados.

Qué es el housekeeping en el hotel

Mucho más allá del significado concreto de la palabra, hoy en día el concepto de housekeeping ya tiene sus propias implicaciones cuando se trata de un hotel y su gestión, ya que actualmente está muy arraigado en el vocabulario hotelero e involucra a todo lo relacionado con la actividad operacional y el conjunto de trabajadores implicados en su desarrollo.

Se abordará desde un departamento multifuncional concentrado en mantener disponibles, impecables y preparadas las áreas públicas del hotel así como las habitaciones disponibles en cada momento, lo que conlleva un importante trabajo de limpieza, mantenimiento, lavandería o higiene entre otros, y supone un gran despliegue de medios organizativos, humanos o materiales.

El housekeeping es, en definitiva, el correcto desarrollo de las funciones relacionadas con el bienestar de los huéspedes poniendo especial interés en las labores de limpieza y organización del establecimiento para fomentar el confort de los clientes y ofrecer una experiencia satisfactoria de la que dependerá su imagen del hotel.

La misión del housekeeping y su desarrollo

Un hotel que se precie siempre velará por la eficiencia de su servicio y el bienestar de su clientela, algo muy dependiente de la calidad del housekeeping de cada hotel ya que la misión del mismo no es otra que brindar a los huéspedes el entorno más adecuado, limpio y agradable posible en un tiempo adecuado a sus necesidades.

La importancia del housekeeping aumenta cuando se trata de un negocio tan vinculado a la satisfacción del huésped como es el de un hotel, ya que será prácticamente la diferencia fundamental entre una buena crítica o un cliente contento de una posible reclamación o mala reputación para el negocio.

El personal implicado en el housekeeping

En toda esta labor de gestión organizativa tan vital para el correcto desempeño de las labores de housekeeping cumple un papel fundamental la figura del housekeeper o gobernanta, sobre quien recae el buen manejo de esta área y todo lo que corresponde al personal implicado en lña correcta ejecución de las funciones derivadas.

De la profesionalidad de la persona que ejerce de gobernanta de un hotel y de su saber hacer dependerá una parte importante de la imagen percibida que el cliente tenga del hotel, aquella que se crea a partir de la estética y la higiene física en estos espacios, uno de los puntos fuertes para el desarrollo y ascenso de los negocios relacionados con la hostelería.

El personal implicado en el housekeeping es un elemento fundamental para el éxito de un hotel y no solo de cara a su organización o planificación eficiente, también de cara a una ejecución correcta de las funciones, evitando las molestias de los clientes por un servicio mal implementado o realizado con poca precisión.

If you are thinking of working in the world of tourism, you might have to organise city tours for the visitors. Choosing the essential spots to be seen can be hard work as each tourist can be interested in different aspects such as history, outdoor walks, architecture, art, music, shopping or gastronomy. One of the cities of the world with the largest number of tourists is London and you can find hundreds of tours and short videos to advise you where to go and what to do. This one could be interesting. Enjoy it!

¡Importante!: Convocatoria de ayudas para curso de inmersión lingüística en inglés oral de 1 semana de duración  para alumnos de Formación Profesional de Grado Superior, organizado por la Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo. Para más información, consultar aquí:

El alumnado va con todos los gastos cubiertos (alojamiento, comidas, clases) sólo tiene que pagar 100 euros y los gastos de transporte. Los cursos suelen realizarse en alguna de las siguientes sedes: Santander, Madrid, A Coruña, Cuenca, Valencia, Sevilla, Granada, Tenerife, La Línea de La Concepción, Barcelona, Aragón y Cartagena. Tendrían hasta el 16 de febrero para solicitar dichas becas.
Teniendo en cuenta la importancia del inglés para la mayoría de los alumnos de los ciclos de Grado Superior, estas becas constituyen una oportunidad para que muchos de ellos/as completen su curriculum  y conocimientos, para permitirles alcanzar mejores metas profesionales.
